Ashampoo Photo Recovery offers a solution to recover lost or deleted photographs. This utility is capable of scanning different types of storage devices in order to find and retrieve photos that were accidentally deleted or lost after hardware failure, formatting, or other circumstances.

This photo recovery solution is able to carry out thorough scans for lost pictures while remaining an easy-to-use application. Its wizard-like interface walks you through every step of the recovery process.

To begin with, you will be prompted to select the source where the scan is going to take place: it can be a local or removable drive, CD/DVD, and even formatted or corrupted disks. This new version also allows you to examine files like PDF, EXE, or Word documents. The list of the Scan Methods lets you choose the type of search you want the app to perform. A Fast Scan will look for photos in common formats, like JPG, PNG, GIF, etc. The High Resolution scans will search for camera and photo files like RAW, PSD, TGA, PCX, and SGI. The Full Scan, on the other hand, will examine the selected device for all known image files.

To speed up the process, you can narrow down the search and tell the app to ignore or include images with a certain file size or format. This will make it easier to find the image files you are looking for. All the photos that the application finds will appear in a gallery as large thumbnails, letting you quickly select the ones you want to keep. However, it is not possible to change the way search results are displayed. more
